San Juan to provide P9-million special risk allowance
The San Juan City local government announced on Thursday, July 15, that it has readied more than P9 million in additional benefits or “Special Risk Allowance” for the city’s COVID-19 response workers, accoridng to a report by Manila Bulletin.
“Nalagdaan na po natin ang chekeng nagkakahalagang 9,866,590.92 pesos para karagdagang benepisyo ng mga kawani nating may direktang kinalaman sa COVID-19 response and interventions. Ang pondong ito ay nagmula sa Bayanihan to Recover as One Act. Mabuhay po kayo, mga makabagong bayani! (We have already signed the check for 9,866,590 pesos as additional benefit for our city employees who have direct relation in our COVID-19 response and interventions. This fund came from the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act. We salute you our new heroes!),” San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.
Employees from San Juan Medical Center (SJMC), City Health Office (CHO), Kalinga Center, Bahay Kaagapay, San Juan National High School Annex Quarantine Facility, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Philippine National Police – San Juan City, and Bureau of Fire Protection – San Juan City who are involved in the city’s COVID-19 response such as swabbing and testing, quarantine and isolation, and patient transport are included in the benefit.
“Ang ating mga benepisyaryong frontliners ay makakatanggap ng P5,000 sa 22 na araw ng pasok sa isang buwan simula Disyembre 2020 hanggang Hunyo 2021, kaya sa mga hindi lumiban sa trabaho, makakatanggap sila ng P30,000 o higit pa (Our beneficiary frontliners will receive P5,000 for 22 working days per month from Dec 2020 to July 2021, so those who did not miss work, they will receive around P30,000 or more),” Zamora added.
