San Juan residents may register by SMS for vaccination

The San Juan City local government said on Monday that its residents may now register in the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program via text as it continues to boost its vaccination efforts amid the threat of the more transmissible Delta variant, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said that residents of San Juan who have no access to the internet may register by sending a text message to 0968-3320244 for Smart subscribers, or 0967-4699522 for Globe users.

Registrants must indicate the following information in their text message:

1. Complete name

2. Age

3. Date of birth

4. Address

5. Category

6. Cellphone number

Residents must choose the category where they belong to:

A1 – Healthcare worker, household member of healthcare worker, Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), or seaman

A2 – Senior citizen, carer of the senior citizen

A3 – Persons with comorbidities

A4 – Essential worker

A5 – Indigents

Meanwhile, Zamora added that non-residents workers in San Juan who also have no access to the internet can also register to be vaccinated in the city by texting 0968-3320245 for Smart users, or 0967-4680548 for Globe subscribers.

The following information must be indicated in their text message:

1. Complete name

2. Age

3. Date of birth

4. Address

5. Category

6. Cellphone number

Registrants must also choose the category where they belong to:

A1 – Healthcare worker, household member of healthcare worker

A4 – Essential worker

“These are part of our mapping operations to ensure na lahat ng taga San Juan na qualified at pati din mga working in San Juan but from other cities ay makapagregister na at mapabakunahan (These are part of our mapping operations to ensure that all qualified people living in San Juan, as well as those non-residents but are working in the city, may register and be vaccinated),” Zamora said.

“Pati yung mga nagregister na ngunit hindi pa nakakakuha ng confirmatory text ay pwede ding mag register thru text (Even those who have registered but are yet to receive the confirmatory text may also register thru text),” he added.

San Juan City achieved herd immunity against COVID-19 last August 10.
