San Juan police inspect KTV bars, nightclubs

The San Juan City Police, led by acting Chief of Police Col. Francis Allan M. Reglos, recently conducted a joint inspection of all bars and KTVs in the city as requested by the Philippine National Police.

The Business Permits and License Office (BPLO), City Health Department (CHD), and City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) also participated in the inspection held on April 25, 2023.

The inspection was aimed at verifying if the bars and KTVs in the city are legally operating and complying with the regulations, policies, and conditions of the local government.

The inspection team, headed by Pcpt. Cristina G. Rojas of the WCPD, CSWD Head Portia Gomez-Esquillo, and some BPLO and CHD employees, visited nine (9) KTV bars and nightclubs in the city.

The team checked if the establishments had the appropriate business permits, did not have underage employees, had Guest Relation Officers who were fit to work and had the necessary health certificates, prohibited firearms and ammunition inside the premises, and did not show any illegal content such as sensual or erotic activities.

Four (4) of the establishments were found to have no business permit and were issued an Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) by the BPLO. The other departments also conducted separate inspections according to their respective jurisdiction and needs.
