San Juan mayor inspects Agora Market 

San Juan City Local Government, in collaboration with Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Agriculture (DA), recently conducted a joint inspection at the Agora Market last February 22, 2023 to ensure that vendors are adhering to the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) set by the national government.

The inspection was led by Mayor Francis Zamora, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, DTI Assistant Secretary Ann Claire Cabochan, and DA Assistant Secretary Kristine Evangelista.

The aim of the inspection is to regulate the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities being sold in the market, especially with the ongoing pandemic affecting the livelihood of Filipinos. The inspection team checked the price tags of various goods, including canned goods, dairy products, and other essential items, to ensure that they are being sold at the correct price based on the SRP.

The team also reminded the vendors to display the SRP in their respective stalls to avoid confusion and complaints from the public.

Mayor Zamora emphasized the importance of following the SRP, especially during these difficult times, to avoid profiteering and to provide affordable prices for the public. He also expressed his gratitude to the MMDA, DTI, and DA for their continuous support and cooperation with the local government in ensuring that the public is not taken advantage of during this crisis.
