The San Juan City local government continues to boost its COVID-19 vaccination efforts, particularly of its bedridden residents amid the growing threat of the more transmissible Delta variant, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

“Patuloy po tayong nagsasagawa ng home vaccination para sa mga bedridden San Juaneños at mga senior citizens na hindi na po pisikal na kakayaning makapunta sa ating vaccination sites (We continue the home vaccination of bedridden San Juaneños and senior citizens who cannot physically go to our vaccination sites),” San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.

“Ito ay bahagi ng ating mapping operations para masigurong ang lahat ng mga kwalipikadong mabakunahan ay ating maaabot lalo na nga po ang may karamdaman para sila ay mabigyan din ng proteksyon laban sa COVID-19 (This is a part of our mapping operations to ensure that all qualified individuals to be vaccinated are inoculated, especially those with comorbidities, so they can be protected against COVID-19),” he added.

The mayor assured that the city’s medical frontliners who are conducting the house-to-house vaccination will make sure that all vaccinees are physically and medically qualified to be inoculated and have the necessary consents from their families.

“These San Juaneños, despite their being confined in their respective homes all this time, might still get the virus from the other members of their household and we do not want that to happen as all of them who are either senior citizens or persons with severe medical conditions have compromised immune systems,” Zamora said.

The LGU started the vaccination of its bedridden residents last August 4 and said that San Juaneños who have bedridden family members may call the hotlines 137-135 for their vaccination. They may also ask help from their barangays regarding the program.
