PNP appoints new San Juan police chief
The newly installed San Juan City Police chief vowed that the city police will remain to be “operational ready” even the city has been branded as “quiet and peaceful.”
Police Col. Jaime Santos replaced Police Col. Ariel Fulo as the city police chief in a turnover of command ceremony on Friday afternoon.
“Since San Juan has its booming economy and considered as a financial district under the jurisdiction of Eastern Police District [and] being branded as quiet and peaceful in terms of safety and security, we cannot afford to relax,” Santos said.
“But rather we will try our very best to be operational ready. Hindi po tayo pweding mag relax (We should not be relaxed),” he added.
Before his new appointment, Santos served under the Philippine National Police Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (SOCIA).
Meanwhile, Fulo was promoted to the Regional Community Affairs Division of the National Capital Region Police Office.
Present during the ceremony was San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, Eastern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Johnson Almazan, and EPD deputy director for administration Col. Erson Digal.
In his speech, Zamora said he is confident that San Juan police will continue to excel under the leadership of the new city police chief.
