San Juan holds orientation for solo parents
San Juan City, known for its various initiatives in support of its constituents, recently held a General Assembly for Solo Parents to orient them on the Republic Act No. 11861, or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act of 2022. The event aimed to broaden the knowledge of the solo parents on their additional rights and benefits under the law.
The Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act of 2022 aims to widen the benefits of solo parents and their children, from financial assistance to educational scholarships. This is the government's way of further supporting the solo parents in strengthening their families and preparing for the future of their children.
Mayor Francis Zamora is aware of the challenges that single parents face in raising their children, and the city government is determined to be their partner. San Juan has designated an office for Solo Parents, and they have launched various programs and projects to support them.
The event was well-received, and many solo parents attended. Those who attended received a financial assistance worth P3,000. The financial assistance is a significant help, especially in these trying times.
